Just alongside lake Mälaren we find the Steam Hotel. Located in the old steam power plant that was built in 1917 and were in full service uptil 1992, this new hotel was built during 2016-2017. The Steam Hotel reaches just over 62 meters high, with 227 rooms including a Spa, two restaurants (one on the top floor) and of course, a roof top bar with 360 views over Västerås. The construction part was quit challenging since the developer wanted to save as much of the power plant features as possible which meant that the outside looks the same but inside it’s a completely a new building. The design of the inside goes in the industrial looks with exposed bricks and concrete and a lot of the old technical equipment still left in the hotel rooms.

Scanspac supplied technical support and a full range of ready-mixed fillers and corner beads.
